Barcelona couldn't be enjoying life any more than they are at the moment, as they are deep into their hunt for their third European treble this season. After what was an arduous last season under Xavi Hernandez, Flick has revitalized the Catalan side this campaign as they lead the La Liga title race, have secured a place in the Copa del Rey final and look certain to qualify for the Champions League semi-final after a 4-0 first-leg win over Borussia Dotmund in the quarter-final.

Spanish publication SPORT has now reported that the Barcelona leadership met up with Flick's agent, Zahavi, to discuss tying the German down to a new contract with the Catalan side. The report has revealed that Barcelona president Joan Laporta, director Deco, and other senior figures met with Zahavi on Tuesday with the goal of strengthening ties before making an offer for an extension.

Flick joined Barcelona last summer after parting ways with the German national team in 2023, just under a year earlier. The German signed a contract until the summer of 2026, however, Barcelona now want to give Flick a lengthier contract to lead the Catalan side.
