Manchester United were victorious in the derby and Rio Ferdinand handed out a verdict on one of their two goalscorers on Twitter during the match.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men completed the double over their arch-rivals Manchester City with a 2-0 victory at Old Trafford with Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay finding the net.Ferdinand was taking a keen interest in the match having played in many a derby in his time and said:
It was Martial’s 16th goal of the season and his third in their last four Premier League outings but the 24-year-old’s hunger and desire was something that the legendary centre-back pointed out with the match still in full flow.
United have moved to within three points of the top four with this win and they could probably do with the Frenchman being just as fired up for the final nine games of the season if they are to break past Chelsea and maybe even catch Leicester City in third.
